RESIDENTIAL
NIGHTINGALE STREET RESIDENCE
QUEZON CITY
Through a sensitive and evolutionary transformation, the Nightingale house conserved the quality of the existing building fabric. With the decision of retaining the structural design and low ceilings along the ground floor, careful considerations were made to overcome the issues it faced. Carbon fiber retrofitting was applied to strengthen the house against earthquakes, allowing it to withstand 7.0 magnitude earthquakes. Additionally, improving the use of cross-ventilation was enhancing by glass doors and large windows to funnel wind through the house. The Nightingale House radiates its minimalist beauty to its surroundings as it emulates the saying 'less is more'.
